Designed by Gastone Rinaldi in 1970, the Orsola sofa is today brought back to new life thanks to the 2021 re-edition by Tacchini.
Formal and Design Profile
The design is shaped by the concepts of comfort and visual softness. The seat is characterized by curved geometries and generous volumes, which convey an immediate sense of hospitality. The distinctive element is the visible metal structure, made of tubular iron with a chrome finish, which embraces and supports the padding, defining the sculptural profile of the object.
Accolades and Historical Significance
The validity and relevance of Rinaldi's project were confirmed by receiving the Archiproducts Design Awards in 2021, an award that celebrates design excellence precisely on the occasion of the model's return to production. Orsola testifies to the Paduan designer's ability to anticipate an aesthetic of living based on the fluidity of shapes and sensory well-being, successfully creating a dialogue between the rigor of the metal frame and the softness of "upholstered furniture".
